Although very hot temperatures are not recommended for washing your hair, cold water may not be the best option. Colder temperature may not be the best way to clean the strands. Why?
Hot water helps break down the oils present in hair, which, however, solidify on cooler surfaces. Thus, washing your hair with colder water may not be enough to remove that oil with the shampoo, so the dirt remains on the scalp.
