TIPS AND RITUALS

DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR HAIR TYPE IS?

Know that you should adopt hair care and choose the right products for your hair type.

Knowing what your hair type is helps you enhance your beauty and choose a more suitable hair care.

According to Andre Walker, Oprah Winfrey's famous hairdresser, it is possible to classify the different types of hair. To find out what your hair type is, simply wash and brush it gently while it is still damp and let it dry naturally, without the aid of heat or styling products.

Hair can be classified into four types according to these strand characteristics:

- Type 1: Straight hair that does not form waves and in which wavy or curly hairstyles do not last for a long time, the hair quickly returning to its original shape.

Within this type of hair, you find:

Subtype 1A – Very straight, fine hair, without volume and prone to oiliness.

Subtype 1B – Straight hair with medium thickness and little volume.

Subtype 1C – Straight, thick and voluminous hair.

- Type 2: Wavy hair with “S”-shaped waves and with several variations.

Within this type of hair, you find:

Subtype 2A – Wavy, fine hair with soft “S”-shaped waves. It usually does not have much volume.

Subtype 2B – Hair with wavy strands in an “S” shape and prone to curl.

Subtype 2C – Hair with wavy and voluminous strands, with a mixture of wavy and curly hair.

- Type 3: Curly hair, quite dense and with defined curls.

Within this type of hair, you find:

Subtype 3A – Hair with long, loose, and defined curls.

Subtype 3B – Hair with narrow, dense, and defined curls. It is difficult to straighten, the strands keeping their natural shape.

Subtype 3C – Hair with very narrow, dense, and thick curls.

- Type 4: Frizzy, thick, and voluminous hair with curls that are difficult to style. This type of hair is more common in people of African descent.

Within this type of hair, you find:

Subtype 4A – Hair with small, well-defined curls.

Subtype 4B – Hair with zigzag curls, less defined than subtype 4A.

Subtype 4C – Curly hair without a defined shape. It is hard to comb.

Regardless of your hair type, it should be washed regularly with a suitable shampoo.

Complete hair care contributes to beautiful and shiny hair!
